| Description |
The project is concerned with the use of ethnic categorizations
among Dutch and Turkish children in the Netherlands. Some research
topics are: the relative importance of ethnicity in different
situations, ethnic self-identification, ethnic ingroup and outgroup
evaluations and the ethnic hierarchy. Influences of both the individual
(e.g. gender, ethnicity) and the social context (e.g. the ethnic
composition of the school class, multicultural education and practices)
are examined.
