| Description |
The research is a continuation and extention of the INTAS-funded

in the former Soviet States (INTAS-94-1745). The design
and questionnaire will now be applied to Russian minorities and
titular groups in four republics of the Russian Federation (Daghestan,
Kabarda-Balkaria, Tuva, Tatarstan, Komi. The aim is:
- (i) to determine the relation between (majority- and minority-)
nationalism and negative evaluations of (majority- and minority-)
outgroups;
- (ii) to determine the strength of the relevant individual
and social predictors of nationalism and outgroup evaluation;
- (iii) to compare the variations in strength of the determinants
os nationalism and negative outgroup evaluation across the five
regions and;
- (iv) to integrate the information under aim (i) to (iii) with
previously gathered data in Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia
and Kazakhstan.
