Project

Ethnicity, Work and Community Integration

Acronym _/ Project ID: 21
Start date 01/11/1996
End date 30/04/2000 Completed
Description

With this study I hope to advance the clarity of (Dutch) debates by review-ing the pre-sump-tions, prob-lems and possibilities bound to the (survey) measurement of individuals' local integration. I do this by presenting a theoretical framework in which various com-po-nents pertinent to the process of individuals' local integration are situated, followed by observations on the possibilities to operationalize and measure the separate compo-nents. This theoretical activity is empirically grounded by references to mea-sure-ments made in a survey conducted in the city of Haarlem, as well as other Dutch research.
