The project was transferred to KU Brussel in March 1997.This
research analyses the collective dynamics, socio-political participation,
and ethnic mobilisation of immigrant minorities through comparative
case studies centred on Moroccans self-organisations in four medium
sized cities in Flanders (Antwerpen), Wallonia (Liege), The Netherlands
(Utrecht) and France (Lille). The principal objectives of the
research are: to develop and apply an original theoretical framework
combining French and Anglo-American approach to immigrants ethnic
mobilisation. to identify community dynamics leading to social
and political mobilisation. to analyse the interaction between
internal community logics and the influence of State policies.
