| Description |
There is a lot of discussion regarding multiculturalism, but
little is known on how adolescents from diverse backgrounds understand
and think over the issue of multiculturalism. In comparison to
other countries, there is little systematic research written about
this in the Netherlands (in regards to adolescents). Information
about the attitudes and expectations of adolescents in regards
to multiculturalism could be a important part of dealing with
ethnic strive among this population. The research will look at
several factors that may influence the attitudes adolescents have
regarding multiculturalism. These factors include, individualistic-collectivistic
standpoint, in- and out-group entativitity, and perceived discrimination.
